Bobby Valentine of the California Angels
The Los Angeles Dodgers first drafted Bobby Valentine in 1968. Since then, his baseball career took off. But the inevitable happened during a game in 1973 when Bobby played the outfield to replace an injured teammate. While chasing a home run, Bobby’s spikes were stuck in the fence and his momentum was carried forward. Bobby suffered multiple fractures to his leg and spent 6 months in a cast. The saddest part is that he never recovered 100% from this break.
