Axolotl

The axolotl is known colloquially as the “walking wish,” but it’s not really a fish, but an amphibian. Unlike other amphibians, the axolotl does not undergo metamorphosis to develop lungs and walk on land. Instead, it remains gilled and aquatic. They’re nearing towards extinction because of urbanization and they’re also extensively used in scientific research to due regenerative abilities.
