Pistol shrimp
The pistol shrimp is known for having asymmetrical claws, one larger than the other, which it uses for its famous “snap.” It capable of creating a bubble that reaches temperatures comparable to that of the surface of the sun by snapping at speeds reaching 100kph. The pressure it produces is strong enough to kill small fish and the noise can interfere with underwater communication such as sonar. With its size of just up to 2 inches long, it is a major source of noise underwater.
